What We Believe
Our Beliefs
Plymell Union Church holds to historic Christian orthodoxy as documented in the Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God the Father All-Governing, Of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only son of God, eternally begotten of the Father: Light from Light, true God from true God, Begotten, not made, of one Essence with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us all and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate of the Virgin Mary and was made human. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered death and was buried and on the third day He rose from the dead, in accord with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated At the right hand of the Father. He shall come again in glory To judge the living and the dead, And His kingdom shall have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord, the Giver of Life Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father is worshiped and glorified, Who has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church We confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come.
Plymell Union Church hold to the complete Gospel as revealed through Scripture:
The gospel is that Jesus the king preexisted as God the Son, was sent by the Father, took on human flesh in fulfillment of God’s promises to David, died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, was buried, was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, appeared to many witnesses, ascended into heaven where He is enthroned at the right hand of God as the ruling Christ, has sent the Holy Spirit to his people to effect his rule, and will come again as final judge to rule.
